THE FIRST MATERIC ART EXHIBITION IN A SERIES YET TO BE UNFOLDED

From March 28 to April 12, 2026, Forte Marghera will host “The Unfolded Series – Stone, an exhibition of stone art by artist and entrepreneur Palmalisa Zantedeschi, curated by BE at gallery. The event is organized with the patronage and support of the City of Venice and the Forte Marghera Foundation, and is part of the “Le Città in Festa” program.

THE ARTIST PALMALISA ZANTESCHI

A woman points at a large abstract painting with swirling patterns in light blue and beige tones on a white wall.

Palmalisa Zantedeschi is an artist and entrepreneur from the Verona area who comes from a traditional family that has been involved in stone carving for generations. Her work allows her to travel the world in search of stones with which to create custom projects for architecture and collectible design. Through daily observation, Palmalisa has discovered that stone is not merely a material but life, vibration, and magic. She has set aside rationality to immerse herself in its essence, revealing, through subtle gestures, its hidden soul. Each sculpture is a silent dialogue, a moment of pure poetry that transforms the cold mineral into a vibrant tale of emotions. The artist invites us to look beyond the surface, to perceive the vitality hidden within what appears motionless, to let ourselves be enchanted by the magic that only an open heart can reveal.

THE CURATORIAL CONCEPT

The contemporary stone art exhibition “The Unfolded Series - Stone” is aimed at a broad and diverse audience: collectors of contemporary art, sculpture and design enthusiasts, and professionals in the arts and culture sector seeking unique stone works. It also appeals to international cultural tourists visiting Venice,as well as museums, art foundations, galleries, architects, and interior designers interested in artistic collaborations.

AN EXHIBITION FOR EVERYONE

People gathered in a room with exposed brick walls, listening to a speaker or presentation at an event or meeting.

"The Unfolded Series - Stone" is a vibrant ecosystem where stone ceases to be an inert material and reveals itself as a living, primordial element. This profound and authentic vision by Palmalisa has been embraced by BE at gallery, which serves as a focal point for the rediscovery and promotion of materials and “collectible design” in Italy and around the world. Not merely an exhibition, but an immersive experience that comes to life in a space and atmosphere of unparalleled historical and artistic value. The solemnity of historical art meets the boldness of contemporary forms, generating a vibrant and unexpected dialogue. The goal is to offer collectors, professionals, and enthusiasts a fresh perspective, fostering a new appreciation for objects that transcend mere function to become true works of art. “Contemporary craftsmanship”where design becomes more than an object: an experience, a story, an emotion to be lived and passed down.

The former French powder magazine at Forte Marghera in Venice as an exhibition space

A brick house with moss-covered roof, surrounded by green grass and trees in the background.

The exhibition space is the former French gunpowder magazine within the Forte Marghera complex, on the outskirts of Venice. Here, history converges with the timeless beauty of the lagoon, a place that narrates centuries of culture, tradition, and transformation. This majestic fortress, built in the 19th century for protection and connection, now stands as a symbol of rebirth and sharing, a cultural outpost that links the historic city of Venice to the mainland. Thanks to the dedication of the Forte Marghera Foundation, established in 2015 by the Municipality of Venice, this extraordinary venue has been transformed into a hub of culture and innovation.
